Heartworms

Tonsillitis
When your dog’s tonsils become swollen and painful, he is said to have tonsillitis. It’s common for dogs to try to violently cough up their tonsils. Some will even paw at their mouths. The infection can be cleared through the use of antibiotics.
Kennel Cough
Kennel cough is one of the final reasons why dogs start coughing a lot. If your dog has a healthy immune system, he should start feeling better within a few weeks. However, pneumonia is a common complication in puppies and smaller breeds. This can be a life-threatening condition.
