there are a lot of dog name questions on here and my thinking is that you must get the dog home and observe the personality to find the right name.

Depends on size, breed, etc. I just got a 2nd Yorkie, named her ‘Pippa’. But a name like that probably wouldn’t go good with a big dog.

I think a dog’s name should go with the dog’s looks. Most of the time.
Our female Thai mix is named Treasure, reason: we found her (but she was in shock at the time), and she is also golden in color.
Our little 2 colored beagle is named Cheyenne, reason: her color of tan reminds me of the pepper, but decided to spell it like that Native American tribe. Pronounce a little different too, but thats okay.
