My dog likes to lick my shoes after I take them off?

My dog is about 9 months old, and after I get home from work he likes to lick my shoes. He never eats them, just licks them both for about 10 mins, litterally shoving his head all the way down to get it all. Why does he do this?
He is a chihuahua, and they are tennis shoes. No not a bakery, I am a teacher for nurses.

Because they smell interesting, and also because they smell like you. Its one of those weird dog ways of saying “I love you”!

lol, my dog also does that. You might have a shiny, smooth shoes. It might be fun to lick or he cleans it to make it look shiny again.

Do your feet sweat? If so he is probably licking the salty taste on the insoles of your shoes. My dog has a foot ****** also, he loves to smell my feet and have me rub his neck with them.
