Keep the shoes up out of his way or in the closet with door shut. Get some chew toys for him only. Dollar stores have them. Dogs also like old socks to play tug of war with. Pet stores have dog toys also.

Give your dog other things to chew on, like a toy with a bell or dispenses treats or a rubber show I saw at a store once or just an old one. If you don’t want to buy much, just get an old sock, fill it with treats and let the dog try to get some treats out.

he’s hungry? you can hide the shoes in a closet or something
get him his own toys, but not those raw hide ones. those can make dogs choke or get germs on them and make your dog sick
get high quality toys for your dogs

Put your shoes away and give (teething?) dog a chew or bone… just be tidier!

needs more teething toys, try this thing they sell at pet stores, its red and you can put peanut butter inside, they come in different sizes, don’t get one too small, your dog could choke, it will really occupy your dog. Also, you can get these bones that aren’t real bones, but they look real, they are really hard and don’t splinter. They are great too and last forever, and last but not least picking your shoes up will solve all problems;o) Good Luck!!!

fill a basket or bucket with dog toys,, you know, tennis balls, socks with knots in them, chewies, tuggies place this bucket in an easily accessible place in your home,,,,,, when the dog starts chewing something innapropriate ( shoes etc.) say UT UH take the item from him then bring him over to HIS toy bucket and let him take something from there,, and praise,,,, it will only take a day or so for him to know where his toys are,,,,, ( i haven’t figured out how to teach them to pick up there toys yet ) :)))

Dogs chew shoes because they like the feel and taste of leather. You stop it by keeping them up off the floor. Simple

You can’t stop a dog from chewing on things. The best thing to do is go to the pet store and buy your dog a bunch of toys to chew on. If he keeps doing it after you get hin the chew toys get something that will make a loud noise, like a can with change in it. When the dog chews on something he’s not supposed to, make the noise and say no real loud. It should scare him from doing it. When you tell him no, give him a toy that he can chew on. Keep doing that until he learns to chew on his own toys.

hiya you didnt say if your dog is fully grown or just a puppy, the commonest answer to that question is that he is bored,he needs things to occupy his time, lots of exercise, chew toys and try to keep your shoes well away from him, like a shoe chest or store in wardrobe, remember if you remove the problem that will be the end of the problem

Very simple - pick up your shoes! And make sure he has plenty of toys to keep him busy.

Your dog eats shoes because he needs something to chew on. direct his attention to something else to chew on such as a ball, rawhide bone, some sort of dog toy for chewing..If he keeps chewing on the shoes get him some behavior training to change his behavior. Check out dog training books or websites for suggestions or find a good dog training class or trainer for him…
